Preparation

This is my first attempt at a blog! For a while I have been wanting to write one so I decided what better time than a week before I go on the trip of a lifetime! I have not written much since university. Especially nothing that has been for public consumption! So please forgive me any spelling or grammatical mistakes!!

At 5 o'clock British Summer Time next sunday I will be just about to board the second of two flights to India. 9 others and I are going to work in three of the biggest city's of India. We will be working in schools and orphanages to help with the ongoing work of three charities in the different city's. Coming with me are two of my oldest friends Emily Edhouse and Phillip Cheeseman.

My trip will be in two parts. In the first part we are going to be starting in Hyderabad then moving on to Kolkata (Calcutta) and finally ending up at New Delhi. In these city's we will be helping the charities. Then every body is going home......... except for me.

I intend to travel around the golden triangle. Going to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal and then Jaipur to see more temples and palaces!!!

With only a week to go I am mostly ready I have had all the jabs and have brought the malaria tablets. I have also amassed a medical kit that would shame the NHS's national reserves!!

I am now in a strange state of being because I am excited because it is close but it still feels far away. I must admit I am feeling bouts of nervousness but the promise of adventure outweighs the nerves.

Where Phil and I can we intend to update our blogs so follow us if you want to find out how we are getting on.
